There are several ways to create a training and development plan for the upcoming year.
We will discuss the most frequent procedures as follows.


1. Training and development plan based on Performance Appraisal

  • As a part of the Performance Appraisal managers set goals the employee should achieve during the next year. Nowadays goals comprise the development of competencies as well.
  • HR collects the appraisal forms and compiles the development expectations and based on that information defines the type of required training and the number of likely participants.
  • Compares the identified needs with the allocated budget and calculates what kind of program could be offered.
  • Presents the training and development plan to the management.
  • Schedules the trainings adjusted to the business activities, selecting the most appropriate timing for the programs.
  • Communicates the types and scheduled timing of the programs on the usual communication platforms.
