The AC (Assessment Center) is an even more popular method of selecting a new hire.
According Wikipedia the term itself means: the process of documenting, usually in measurable terms, knowledge, skills, attitudes and beliefs. 
Compared to other selection procedures our method is different and special, because you can get a wide range of information about the candidates as a result of a row of exercises that are the same for all of them.

What is it good for?

  • You can experience the competence and skills needed for a specific job in practice

  • There are more observers, so you can diminish the role of subjectivity

  • You can observe competencies, their deficiencies in spite of the fact that the method would be tried only a week after the employement, such as cooperation-competition, flexibility, prospects of development, risk taking, and stress management

  • The candidates spend a day together where they experience each others' performances, so they can set up a realistic rank order among themselves.  They can accept and understand the final decision (a rejection) of the company easier.
