Most organizations have organization charts. Also, it is available on the internet for everybody. However, there are only a few companies where people take this chart seriously. People do not know what an organization chart/organigram is good for, they just do not see how it influences everyday work.

The organigram is the safe base which:

  • Reflects the hierarchy of the company
  • Makes acceptable who, why, and in which role takes or does not  take part in a meeting
  • Who delegates  whom, and why
  • Who, to whom, and what has to report
  • Who is responsible for what
  • Reflects the direction of the information flow
  • Creates visibility, structure and transparency
  • Shows the span of controll
